About

SPS Technology’s proprietary Sandwich Plate System, SPS(r), is an advanced structural composite and an alternative to conventional stiffened steel and concrete decks. It is a strong, lightweight, prefabricated modular solution that is used in the extension, strengthening and reinstatement of highway and pedestrian bridge decks. Bridge deck construction using SPS delivers a high strength-to-weight ratio and increased live-load capacity while being 70% lighter than concrete.

SPS is architecturally versatile and adaptable to multiple bridge features including:
