SSSBA Member U.S. Bridge Celebrates 90 Years of Connecting Communities Through Steel Bridges

SSSBA member U.S. Bridge celebrated its 90th anniversary in July 2026, marking nine decades of steel bridge design, engineering and manufacturing from its headquarters in Cambridge, Ohio.
Founded in 1936 by brothers Herman and Ted Rogovin, U.S. Bridge began with roots in American manufacturing and has grown into a recognized leader in prefabricated and modular bridge solutions. Today, the company has designed and manufactured more than 11,000 bridges, with projects connecting communities throughout the United States and around the world.
The company’s history began even earlier, when Sam Rogovin immigrated to the United States from Russia in 1898 and established a scrap yard in Cambridge, Ohio. His sons later helped build on that foundation – Ted developing his manufacturing experience in the family business and Herman pursuing engineering – eventually leading to the creation of U.S. Bridge.
Over the past nine decades, U.S. Bridge has played an important role in advancing steel bridge solutions, including prefabricated and modular bridge systems that help provide efficient, durable and adaptable infrastructure solutions.

Celebrating 90 Years of Manufacturing Excellence
To celebrate the milestone, U.S. Bridge hosted a 90th anniversary celebration at its Cambridge headquarters with more than 170 employees, family members, customers, partners and community leaders.
Guests toured the fabrication facility, shared a meal and recognized the employees, customers and partners who have contributed to the company’s success over the past 90 years.

As part of the celebration, the company’s longtime address at 201 Wheeling Avenue was officially renamed 100 U.S. Bridge Way. The new street designation recognizes more than a location—it represents the employees, customers and communities that have supported U.S. Bridge throughout its history.
The anniversary celebration also included remarks from federal, state and local officials recognizing U.S. Bridge’s contributions to Ohio manufacturing and the broader bridge industry.

Professionals: The SSSBA provides complimentary half-day or full-day workshops on short span steel bridge design to states, counties, and design firms. Topics covered include practical and cost-effective steel bridge design and fabrication with eSPAN140, press-brake-formed steel tub girders, steel buried bridge design, galvanized coating solutions, and economical design with case studies, and more. Students: The University of Wyoming and the Short Span Steel Bridge Alliance created a free 6-part live-lecture educational series to cover the many aspects of designing, fabricating, and constructing steel bridges.
