Webinar 1
Economics of Short Span Steel Bridge Design and Construction, with a Fabricators Perspective
- Overview: This session will present an evaluation of optimized steel plate girders as an economical and structurally efficient solution for 60’–100’ bridge spans, particularly where larger rolled beams may be less cost-competitive compared with other bridge systems. Attendees will review design comparisons, case studies, and implementation guidance, while also gaining a fabricator’s perspective on practical application, constructability, and project delivery considerations.
- Speakers:
- Dr. Michael Barker, SSSBA Director of Education and Professor, University of Wyoming
- Tanner Genenbacher, Business Development Manager, DeLong’s Inc.
